We recently held our Code of Conduct Validation Workshop on the 25th of February 2021 at the Movenpick Hotel, Westlands.

The event was a success, with the Signing Ceremony having been carried out.

During the signing ceremony, our Chair Bernard Chiira welcomed the move, stating that  “For the innovation ecosystem to thrive there needs to be an environment of trust and honesty among players to ensure there is no exploitation in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. As an association, we need to look at how we can create an environment of trust to prevent cannibalizing ideas which will be provided through this framework.”

The Innovation Ecosystem Code of Conduct is envisioned to be the guiding framework to the various stakeholders within the Kenyan Innovation Ecosystem while ensuring that engagements are fair and just. It covers the following thematic areas;

1.  Shared values

2.  Stakeholder engagements

Last year, we held four regional consultative workshops covering Nairobi, Western, Coast, and Nakuru in the month of May as well as a national workshop to consolidate the information in the code of conduct.

The implementation work lies in the ownership by members and the ecosystem, ASSEK looks forward to building collaboration along the way!
