
Last year in November 2020, we embarked on a partnership with WIDU.
WIDU Africa,is an online platform which aims to support entrepreneurship in Africa. It is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The goal of this partnership is to create new jobs, increased income and better economic perspectives for participating African countries.
Kenya is the 3rd African country where WIDU is active and this was launched in October 2020.ASSEK is the implementer of the project working with 4 member organizations i.e GrowthAfrica LTD, EldoHub Innovations and Technologies LTD, Private Equity Support(PES) and” Ongoza Institute who are providing mentoring and coaching to small scale the entrepreneurs in towns outside of Nairobi. with business projects in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Service, Retail, E-commerce, Transport and video production. These projects are spread around the country i.e Nairobi, Kikuyu ,Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kiambu, Mbale, Kilifi and Isiolo.
The aim is to have 300 coaching visits by the end of the 6-month program.
