We are currently in the second phase of our partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) ,with the first phase of the project having been concluded in October 2021. Following discussions to complete the project, GIZ and ASSEK discussed an extension of the project, which was agreed to. The project has been extended for a further 6 months, from November 2021 to April 2022. So far, 228 entrepreneurs have been enrolled in the program, with 100 entrepreneurs receiving funding worth €145,000. For WIDU phase 2, ASSEK is working with 3 member organizations i.e. Private Equity Support, EldoHub and Ongoza Institute.
WIDU Africa is an online platform that aims to support entrepreneurship in Africa. It is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The goal is the creation of new jobs, increased income and better economic perspectives for participating African countries. Learn more about WIDU here.
