Our partnership with WIDU is still underway, but is set to come to a close in August of this year.
So far under our project partnership, we have 82 entrepreneurs with 96 coaching visits done with entrepreneurs from different sectors such as Agriculture, Health, Service, Retail, E-commerce, Transport, Construction & Crafts, and video production. These projects are spread around the country in the counties of Kiambu, Mombasa, Kilifi, Nakuru, Siaya, Busia, Kisumu, Vihiga, Muranga, Nyandarua, Homa Bay and Kajiado.
We shall be conducting site visits to the entrepreneurs in the Coastal region on the 19th and 20th of July 2021.
WIDU Africa is an online platform that aims to support entrepreneurship in Africa. It is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The goal is the creation of new jobs, increased income and better economic perspectives for participating African countries.
Kenya is the 4th African country where WIDU is active and this was launched in October 2020. The other 3 African countries are Cameroon, Ghana and Ethiopia.ASSEK is the implementer of the project working with 4 member organizations i.e GrowthAfrica LTD, EldoHub Innovations and Technologies LTD, Private Equity Support(PES) and Ongoza Institute who are providing business coaching and training to the entrepreneurs and the project.
